Rev. Lekgodi started the first school for blacks in Beaufort West in 1943. In 1987 the school was divided into Mandlenkosi Secondary and Beaufort West Primary. The new building for Beaufort West Primary was inaugurated in 1989. The first principal was Mr. T.R. Hanabe. The institution was renamed H.M. Dlikidla primary in 1998..
